This day is relevant to all veterinary nurses. Whilst clinical work, focusing on the health of our patients, is the primary aim of veterinary practice, we must remember that veterinary is essentially a ‘people business’. Veterinary practices are full of people, including clients and colleagues and communication is key to our days going well and the business being successful. We need to be able to interact with our clients in such a way that they build and maintain positive relationships with our practice and we need to be able to interact with our colleagues in such a way that results in a happy team. Human beings, however, are emotional creatures and with different perspectives and personalities it’s only too easy for misunderstandings to occur with negative effects all round. The presentations will explore how personality and emotions affect the way we think and behave and help us understand ourselves and others, as well as looking at ways that we can adjust our communication and behaviour to fit the situation. The cost of the day includes a DISC personality profile report for each delegate.
