This course was originally delivered as a live online event in October 2020 and is kindly sponsored by Royal Canin.

Please be aware that there is more content, theory, and application on this topic available in the Silver and Gold levels of the Accredited Veterinary Receptionist award.

The Psychology of Confidence for Veterinary Receptionists

This course is relevant to anyone who wishes to develop their confidence and assertiveness. The same principles apply to all roles in life and are equally as useful in helping develop your colleagues', and even your kids’, confidence as they are in developing your own. The sessions will cover the psychology of the various types of confidence which include self-efficacy (the belief that ‘I can’) and its relationship to self-esteem – which is rooted in what we think we mean to other people and what they think about us. We will begin with the things that undermine our confidence in the first place as it is essential that we understand and tackle those first if we hope to build genuine confidence instead of papering over the cracks.

Becoming Reception Team Leader: What do I need to know?

This course is relevant to anyone who wishes, or has been asked, to become the team leader of their front of house team. This can be exciting but daunting – but we know you can do it!

However, you do need to know a few things to make sure that you get off to a good start, as managing all the things that you need to think about, organise, and do whilst still serving clients and running around after the vets can be tricky. Such things include rotas, managing the diaries on the practice management system, being on top of IT, client communication, literature, resolving the cashing-up issues – and not least having to manage your colleagues with whom you used to be ‘one of them’.

Member Price: £39.00 + VAT | Non Member Price: £49.00 + VAT

This course represents 3 hours of CPD. A certificate is available to download upon completion.
