About Colourful CPD
Colourful CPD evolved from Brian giving his first Colourful Consultation talk as a last-minute substitute during a CPD event in 2011. This talk led to further talks and so it all began.
What our clients say
The Bronze level of the Accredited Veterinary Receptionist award is an excellent course, thank you!
I am new to working in a veterinary practice, however I have worked clinically as an AHP, and in an administrative capacity for the NHS, and due to this experience of a rigorous focus on strict working guidelines, protocols, collaboration and excellent comms, I vastly underestimated the differences and challenges I would face at my vet practice assuming the ways of working would be much the same. These courses will be an amazing tool for my team to streamline the way we think, respond, and work, improve continuity of care, safety, professionalism, communication, and most importantly customer and staff satisfaction and retention.
There is so much from this course that I will take away and, in collaboration with my practice coordinator, hopefully implement for better ways of working. It also gives me great confidence to take up your methods as they are all evidence based through your years of experience. I’m excited to start the Silver award soon. Thanks again!
I found the Vet Whisperer course extremely useful, particularly the part regarding time management. I have already started implementing some of the techniques in my consults, especially the technique of advising the clients of my top three differentials, and encouraging a proactive response, with good results. I feel much happier in my job and feel like I am at last doing it properly. Thank you Brian!
I really enjoyed the Certificate in Veterinary Nurse Consulting. It has helped me gain knowledge and confidence within nursing consults again and reminded me just why I love that aspect of nursing and building relationships with the clients. I’d definitely recommend this course to others either needing to refresh their skills or those just starting out!
I have really enjoyed the Veterinary Practice Management course. There are bits of the course that I have already used in practice and will continue to work towards others, especially charging of nurse consultations and changing the way we bill things. My favourite areas of the course were client satisfaction and marketing and personal satisfaction which I have learnt so much on how to continue to improve. Thank you so much!
The Vet Whisperer webinars have been a real help in beginning to understand why I have these feelings and how to adopt a better mindset. I really wish I’d seen them a year ago! I really hope that more people watch the webinars. They’re fantastic.
Its all great and I love the psychological emphasis on the courses. Coming back to veterinary following a 5 year break, and employment in the mental health sector, the courses tap into many areas I learnt about away from the vet sector.
The Veterinary Practice Management course has the right balance of topics that successful Veterinary Practice Managers or aspiring managers would need. Fantastic and very informative; excellent webinars and covering every angle of Veterinary Practice Management and tool of the trade so to speak . Will be referring to the webinars as I move forward with my career goals .
I really enjoyed the free nurse certificate taster! The speakers were fantastic, very clear, easy to understand and to follow and I have come away with some new knowledge but also confidence in how to approach consults without fear of saying something incorrect/worry.
Really helpful area for the veterinary world to understand some of this material better because of the perfect storm we are facing of gender imbalance in younger graduates coupled with an over-emphasis on political correctness & the opportunity created for the relentless onward march of the corporates. No-one is really addressing the complex underlying issues which have created this situation, although there is at least some belated recognition that it has been allowed to arise. But this kind of information is really helpful to understand some of the mindsets which lie underneath the surface & help us to address some of the real concerns more appropriately. Many thanks.
Very well-spoken and put together videos. Highly recommend this course as it tackles some of the everyday issues dealt with in practice and gives useful advice on how to overcome these. Everyday practice goes beyond books and it is nice to know there is information out there covering an important aspect of this job. Looking forward to more videos.
The Vet Whisperer course has been incredibly helpful for me. I suffered a burnout / severe depression in October after 19 years in practice and 13 years in a very demanding high paced job working along side an ego narcissist whose behaviour has escalated beyond tolerable levels during the last 12 months. I am preparing to return to work next week and feel I have a greater understanding of how I got to the point where I could no longer cope. Many Thanks.
I generally have significant antipathy towards the self-help / self-improvement movement. I find most of the content is common sense and unlikely to be life changing. So it was with some scepticism that I watched the Vet Whisperer course. I have to say, it was fantastic. The evidence based approach to an analysis of behaviour was terrific and would appeal to most scientific minds. The fact it specifically relates to veterinary practice was a big plus, rather than a generic one varnished with a vet clinic top coat.
